DDGA Deaf West Open 2024

DDGA (Deaf Disc Golf Association) is a National Deaf organization for Deaf Disc Golfers. DDGA aims to expand the horizon across the nation with Nationals and Regionals as well with Local tournaments. Those Tournaments are intended for Deaf or CODA players only. The "Hearing" players (players whoever are not Deaf and cannot sign) cannot play in these tournaments. This Tournament is for players who are part of American Sign Language (ASL) community. Whoever is fluent in using ASL are welcome to play in DDGA sanctioned tournaments. The Tournament Director will have the final say in whoever is allowed to play in this tournament (as in being qualified to play in this DDGA sanctioned tournaments based on being Deaf and/or ASL user).

For those "Hearing" players who already registered by accident, you will be refunded, unless you are willing to donate to DDGA, in which DDGA will be greatly appreciative and will recognize your name on the sponsor/donation list of the tournament.

ENTRY FEES:

$80 for Mixed Pro divisions: $40 to cash payouts via PayPal, $20 to player packs, $20 to course fees for 2 days.

$80 for Mixed Am divisions: $40 to scrip payouts to Kayak Point DGR Pro Shop, $20 to player packs, $20 to course fees for 2 days.

$50 for Women's Pro divisions: $15 to cash payouts via PayPal, $20 to player packs, $15 to course fees for 2 days.

$50 for Women's Am divisions: $15 to scrip payouts to Kayak Point DGR Pro Shop, $20 to player packs, $15 to course fees for 2 days.

$35 for ALL Junior divisions: $15 to scrip payouts to Kayak Point DGR Pro Shop, $10 to player packs, $10 to course fees for 2 days.

LAYOUTS:
MPO, MP40, MA1, and MA40 will play the wooded Blue course on Sat., April 13. Followed by playing the normal tees on the Red course on Sun, April 14. If construction on the Blue Course is not completed in time, these divisions will play the Gold Course instead.

All other divisions will play the Red course on April 13. Followed by playing the Green Layout on the Red Course (uses 9 shorter alternate tees on the Red course, combined with 9 regular tees) on Sun., April 14.

DIVISIONS:
A wide range of divisions will be offered for this event including mixed, female, and age protected divisions.

TEE TIMES:
Players will be grouped by division and will be assigned tee times by the TD. Initial tee time assignments will be released about 1 week before the event but there may be some minor changes based on dropouts so make sure to confirm your tee time each day. All cards will begin their rounds on hole 1 of their respective courses.

PLAYER'S PACK:
All players, except Juniors, will receive a player's pack that includes a custom tournament stamped disc and a $20 gift card to Kayak Point Disc Golf Resort. Juniors will receive a custom tournament stamped disc and a $10 gift card to Kayak Point Disc Golf Resort.

PAYOUTS:

PROS - Cash payouts to the top 45% of each division via PayPal.
AMS - Scrip/store credit to the top 50% of each division to the Kayak Point DGR Pro Shop.

*all junior divisions will receive scrip payouts

ACE POT:
$5 optional Ace Pot for all players (1 ace pot for everyone).

PLAYER CHECK-IN:
Player’s must check-in inside the Clubhouse at least 15-minutes prior to their tee time on both days to confirm attendance. Players should also be at the tee for hole 1 a minimum of 5 minutes before their tee time.

SCORING:
Scoring will be handled using UDisc.

FOOD & DRINK:
Outside food and alcohol are prohibited on the property. Aces BBQ & Grill will be open from 9am - 2pm serving breakfast and lunch options, plus the Pro Shop has a variety of snacks and drinks including non-alcoholic and alcoholic options. Players who register prior to April 5th at 8pm will have the opportunity to pre-order food at a discount from Aces BBQ during registration.

GOLF CARTS:
Golf carts will not be available to players during tournament rounds. They will be available for rent to spectators.
