Champoeg Dubs driven by All Day Disc Golf week 7 recap.

It is time to gather up and see what went down as I bring us all up to date on just how great our league is. I'm talking about Thursday night dubs at Champoeg of course. It was a hot night of high flying action. There were awesome hyzer flips and near ace-run fairway skips. The players were playing, the trees were swaying, and a good time all around is just what I'm saying. We hit our average again of 76 frisbee fanatics, which is nothing short of awesome. It is time to gather up and see what went down as I bring us all up to date on just how great our league is. I'm talking about Thursday night dubs at Champoeg of course. It was a hot night of high flying action. There were awesome hyzer flips and near ace-run fairway skips. The players were playing, the trees were swaying, and a good time all around is just what I'm saying. We hit our average again of 76 frisbee fanatics, which is nothing short of awesome. Let's take a minute now and see how it all played out.

We had a special guest show up on Thursday night. None other than the pride of Champoeg himself, Cole Redalen high stepped his way in with his sights set on disc golf dominance. And he did not disappoint. Him and his partner Aaron Donaldson set a new record from Champoeg Dubs laying out every basket that got in their path. On a 20 hole layout they posted a -21!! Hot diggity-dog! But the scorecard did show that this team was still human. They did not birdie hole 18..........(show of hands for all those that did birdie hole 18 last night.....) however they covered that gap by getting 2 eagles on the night.......so I guess that kid is pretty good. Sitting in the second car of the podium lane (only 4 strokes behind.....only..) was Zach Kelly and yours truly, Buck 'Yeah!' Rich with a decent attempt of -17 (and yes, we did birdie hole 18....in your face Cole!!). We had 2 teams up next with a score of -15 but after the showcase throwdown it was the duo of Craig Beavers and Mack Ngo in the 3rd car.

The longest smash of the season contest, Sponsored by Top Flight Disc Golf, has been quite the.......Smash hit.......you could say. This last Thursday Kevin Rodriguez cracked into the top 3 distance makes with a long toss of 148ft on hole 17. The top 3 marks at the Finale with get cash. Right now that looks like this -
1st place – Emiliano Joaquim-Nathaniel Haynes-Caldera – 165ft - $50
2nd place – Kevin Rodriguez – 148ft - $25
3rd place – Dan Martinez – 144ft - $10

Gather round and grab yourself a listen. You better sit down for this one or at least find a comfortable place to stand. I am ready to give the details so pay attention and take notes. It was a night of high flying fun. We had a record setting attendance night on Thursday as 82 frisbee flippers showed up and got down with disc golf dominance. It was a nothing short of awesomeness and the action was non-stop, from the bottom to the top. Lets hear how it all played out.

Many a birdie was found this night as the basket attack was constant. But at the top of the heap was none other than 'The Kid' himself. The team of Dallas Garber DG and Brian Shaw set the pace and finished the race with a score of -16 for the win. Hot-diggity-dog! Not far behind was a familiar face on the leaderboard of this dubs league........Chase Estep and partner Jim 'I have been playing longer the Dallas has been alive' Morehead with a -15 showing. To finish out the podium for the night we had deal our way through 6 teams at -14!! After the showcase throwdown is was the team of Bryan Hoerr and Zach Palmquist sitting in 3rd place. Nice job peeps. Keep up the birdie grabbing and snag those all important points.

The Top Flight Disc Golf long Smash of the season contest saw a 144ft toss hit its mark. Dan Martinez won the night and now sits in 2nd place for the season long toss challenge. Keep those deep tosses frosty and the next big smash could be you. Be sure to thank Zach Todd and Francis Adzima for making this contest that much more of a smash hit.

Champoeg Dubs driven by All Day Disc Golf week #2.

All right now all you kits and kats it is time to spit the facts about what went down on Thursday night. It was a spectacle of super stellar saucer slingers stepping to the plate and delivering disc golf fate. We saw a total head count of 70 peeps with nothing but disc golf glory on their agenda. With a night of survivor style play I knew we were in a for a treat of low scores and high spirits. And the crew that arrived did not disappoint. All right now all you kits and kats it is time to spit the facts about what went down on Thursday night. It was a spectacle of super stellar saucer slingers stepping to the plate and delivering disc golf fate. We saw a total head count of 70 peeps with nothing but disc golf glory on their agenda. With a night of survivor style play I knew we were in a for a treat of low scores and high spirits. And the crew that arrived did not disappoint. We saw -19, -18, -17, -16, -15, -14.......... you get the picture. It was a sight to be seen and night to not be forgotten. Lets see how it played out.

Winning the night with a near perfect showing of -19 was the dynamic duo of Luke Jenks and Brenden (now I'm in first place overall) Motte. They slayed the course and survived the night. Nice shooting boys. Up next on podium was Sam Benson and Mack (sitting in 2nd on the leaderboard) Ngo with a -18 showing. Rounding out the top 3 teams was 2019 Dubs Champion Chase Estep and Nick Taylor with a -17 display. Way to get after it on the course. 18 of the 35 teams tossed for double digits during week 2. The competition is stellar and the baskets are taking a beating. Just like we want. Damn Skippy!

The Top Flight Longest Smash of the Season contest kicked it up a notch this last week. We had to makes of over 100ft!! Brian Pond make a longest distance connection of 116ft on hole 14b. But that was not the longest of the night. Emiliano 'Mili' Haynes thought birdie was out of the question at 165ft away. But his toss was true and the basket caught his throw. He has set the mark to beat at 165ft. But there are still 12 weeks left to improve that distance. Who will challenge this mark? For now, Mili has the hold on the $50 cash prize. But it could be you. When your partner gives you the green light, step on the gas and make the magic happen. Good toss Mili.

It is time........time to bring you all up to speed on the magic in the making at the best place to be on Thursday nights. I'm talking about Champoeg Dubs driven by All Day Disc Golf. Week 1 of this fine league just took place on Thursday. And it was just as awesome as I remember. 62 heads arrived and were divided into 32 dynamic duos determined to deliver to the destination with dreams of disc golf domination. Damn Skippy my dudes.

Week 1 of this fine league just took place on Thursday. Week 1 action saw lots on big thrills and low scores. Half the teams pitched double digits under par on a 19 holes layout. Not too bad I must say. But the cream of the crop always rises to the top. And this night of frisbee flinging found the team of Oliver Jim and Jordan Yent standing alone in the victory seat with a stellar showing of -16. That is some hot disc golf action! Vying for 2nd place were 2 teams only one stick behind 1st sitting at -15. But after the showcase throwdown it was the duo of Kyle Torian (veteran to the league) and Jesse Hickerson (new face in the crowd) snagging 2nd. In 3rd was 'The Kid' wonder himself Dallas Garber and another newcomer Greg (I can't miss a putt)Furniss. Congrats to the podium finishers this fine evening. Keep coming out!

Top Flight Disc Golf and the new Longest Smash of the Season contest was in full effect. There were 5 basket attacks of over 60ft last night and the big smash of the night being an 88ft make on hole 9 by Josh Warner. Good shooting Josh. And thank you to Top Flight for doing this thing right.

We now will have 2 sponsored disc golfers each week. We will have a Oregon Sports and Family Chiropractic (OSFC for short) Competitor and a Grit Discs Grinder each week. The points are all ready piling up. Make your way to this league and get yourself climbing the ladder. Only 10 weeks count towards the finale and there are still 13 weeks left of play. The big finale is on Saturday, September 9th. Those that know, know. This is not your ordinary league finale. It is something out of legend. An epic event with cash, prizes, food, trophies, a raffle, and memory for the ages. You have to play in the league to be at the finale. But not just the Top 20 in points play that day. No sir, we have a Best of the Rest bracket for anyone who has at least 3 weeks of league played. And there are cash prizes and a trophy for the winner of that bracket as well. Not to mention all the cash and prizes that I have left at the end of the season are giving away in a raffle. And you can not buy into the raffle. You get one ticket for each week you played. That is the only way to get raffle tickets. And perfect attendance gets 5 extra raffle tickets. And there will be grand prize to win. Previous years we had a loaded disc golf bag, a basket, a rangefinder, and last year is was a marksmen basket. We do it right at Champoeg DGC. You better ask somebody!

Random Dubs Tommorow at Champoeg!!

I will be running some random flip dubs tomorrow evening at Champoeg. With the league season starting in 1 week I thought it would be good to get out internal disc golf clocks set for Thursday night.

When - 5 to 5:30pm sign ups
How much - $5 buy-in.
How many holes - 19 holes layout. Simple and quick.
Payout - If we get 16 heads then 2nd place gets something. 20 heads and 3rd place will get even money. More people..........more payout!! But the majority will land on the best team, of course.
