What is Bag Tags?
Bag tags is a fun, competitive way to challenge others in a league, casual or tournament round of disc golf. All registrants receive a physical numbered tag (1 – 54). Tags are to be displayed where others can see them and must be worn at all times. The number on the tag represents your rank within the Bag Tag League. Tag Rounds are hosted every week and at the end of each round the tags are distributed out based on score, the person with the best score gets to take the lowest tag number home.

Rules of Engagement
1. Members who “possess a 2024 Bag Tag in hand” may issue/schedule/participate in challenge(s).
2. Any member with a higher Bag Tag number may challenge any player with a lower Bag Tag number to a round of disc golf within the 5 player range.
3. Players must have their Bag Tag on them to participate in a challenge.
4. Challenges may be made in person, by telephone or e-mail/txt/chat. When a challenge is accepted, neither player can participate in Casual or Open challenges until the agreed upon match has taken place.
5. If a player issues a challenge to another player, within five positions, the two have 48 hours to make or arrange a challenge. If contact is not returned, or a challenge cannot be made, both are free to move on to next challenge/request. If contact is NOT
returned within 48 hours, and that player is within five positions, the original challenger can submit a match for the tags to be swapped (they would enter themselves as par (54) and the person who did not reply as +1 (55).
DO NOT DELETE your conversations. When in doubt, you may need that to prove you DID give 48 hour notice.
6. The player receiving the challenge can choose the course to be played AND must make a “fair and reasonable” effort to be available within 5 days. If the challenger cannot agree to a reasonable time or date for the match within the coming week, the challenge is void and both players may look for new challenges.
7. Upon league registration each player must provide two of three methods of communication. Email, text, or Facebook message. All members must provide two of three of the aforementioned mediums and be okay with those being shared with the other players for communication and challenge needs.
8. Once the challenge has been agreed upon, any changes must be agreed upon otherwise a forfeiture may occur.
9. If the challenger has the lowest score for the round, the tags must be exchanged immediately following the round and entered into Discgolfscene.
10. Challenges are on a round-by-round basis; EX: Challenges are for one round only in a multiple round event.
11. You must play disc golf in order for it to be considered a challenge.
League Match Challenge (Royal Rumble Matches)
Royal Rumble members are expected to attend scheduled League Match Challenges.
• If you miss 2 consecutive matches in a row, you forfeit your tag and you drop to the bottom of the list. In the event there are multiple forfeitures, placements will be based on their last placement tag number.
Casual Round Challenges (CRC)
Royal Rumble members may casually meet at a course OR agree to meet at a course/time to compete for bag tags in:
• Head-to-Head (me vs. you) challenges.
• Group Challenges, where multiple players each put a Bag Tag at stake during the group round.
• Open Challenges, any tag number is eligible to play in this round, regardless of the 5 ranking rule.
Proximity & Distance Challenges (PDC)– Event, League or, Tournament Play
Royal Rumble members “competing in” (proximity) a coordinated Disc Golf event (official or casual) may agree beforehand to compete for Bag Tags while playing in separate cards/groups/divisions (distance), for a given round.
Example: If Player A is playing at Melville on the white tee layout, and Player B is playing at Peepeekisis on the blue tee layout, the challenge would be relative to the par, not based on total strokes throughout the round.
Wins, Ties, and Exchanges
Q: How do I win?
A: The player with the lowest score at the end of the challenge round earns the lowest numbered Bag Tag among the challengers. In the event of a tie, the lower tag entering the round/challenge will finish with the lowest tag available relative to a tied scored.
Q: I won, when do I receive my winning Bag Tag?
A: The winner must submit the match on discgolfscene in order for tags to be swapped.
Q: What happens if we have a tie?
A: In the event of a tie, the player who started with the lowest numbered Bag Tag will be awarded the lowest numbered Bag Tag. This may require some sorting in a group challenge.
Players may choose to play over time holes, the player with the lowest tag in that challenge has the right to accept or deny an overtime challenge.
The winner must enter the scores into discgolfscene in order for tags to be swapped.
Rematches
Challengers who have just won, may, but do not have to accept/schedule a rematch challenge from a player that they have just beaten unless one of the following occurs:
1. Either player completes another, separate challenge, with a different player/tag number.
2. One week has passed.
Whichever comes first.
Eligible Tags
Members may only challenge members who possess the Royal Rumble Bag Tag; no other Bag Tags are eligible to participate in challenges. You must have your Bag Tag with you to challenge or accept challenges.
Forfeiture
Any club member will be required to surrender their Bag Tag if:
• Player is found to be purposely concealing the Bag Tag, especially with a low number.
• If you miss 2 consecutive matches in a row, you forfeit your tag and you drop to the bottom of the list. In the event there are multiple forfeitures, placements will be based on their last placement tag number.
• If contact is not returned to a challenge within 48 hours.
All players are to follow the PDGA rules, Caddy rules and Royal Rumble rules at all times. There are no "what the cards wants/agrees with" rulings during match rounds.
