First let's get one thing out of the way. This is a course playing through and around a college campus. There are not any tee pads but semi permanence is important when working around buildings and campus construction.
This course is flat out fun. There was not a single hole I played that felt like a "filler" or a waste. Accuracy is a must here! Playing with parking lots, roads, and rivers throughout adds an interesting dynamic. Go check this place out!

Very fun, very unique course. Some of the city backdrops in the first few holes are absolutely awesome. Hole 17, the course's signature hole in my opinion, will soon be the prettiest disc golf hole in Metro Detroit once the pond fills up and the grass comes in on 17 and 18.
If you haven't played LTU lately, try to work it into your rotation. Its central location is perfect for meeting up with friends for casual rounds. The course is MUCH better than Starr / Wagner, and right on par with ...

Yes, the course is cramped. Yes, most of the holes are really narrow and close to busy roads, sidewalks, etc. The tee signs maybe facing the wrong way, and there are no tee pads, but you don't really need any of them, if you've walked through it once. Considering what the designer had to work with, the land is supposedly protected marshland, the course is not that bad. Some shots are tight, and force you to use control, and are unforgiving, but that makes better disc golfers, right? And the wide ...

Lightly wooded college course. Natural and sidewalk pads. Tee posts with hole numbers. Clean and well maintained. The sprinklers come on in the morning. A few unique holes, one with a water hazard. Nice redesign. Big parking lot. The most convenient start is on on hole 4.

First off, Ben Calhoun hates any duece or die course because he can't make a five foot putt. This course is tons of fun, combining urban aspects to some naturistic holes. We already added long tees to hole 1 and 2. It leaves me wantng more. 12-18 can be played all night thanks to all the parking lot lights. A must see...

Good course i like the layout and the scenic view. Have a course map to get around. Not every hole has a tee pad sign. Other than that i love the course

i like the tons of variety from short holes to longer holes, there are shot in the open through trees, need all types of throwing... may not be the longest course but it does require some skill to do good... good for what youd expect on a small college campus...

The multiple diverse elements are what makes this course unique. This course takes you on a journey down through a wooded valley where the Rouge River runs through, back up to a giant clearing ('the Pointe'), down back into the woods, through the outskirts of the campus, back into the woods and finally along the urban setting of the service drive. North housing, a giant sculptural structure, 10 feet tall weeds, and the urban/natural mix of the course keeps me going back.

This is a tough course, you need to think your throws out on some holes expecially the ones along the road, it can get really windy. There is good elevation changes, and a good mix of holes. The teepads are not very good, they can get a bit muddy. I like it better then the old design.

new layout is much tougher with longer holes and even more water in play than previous layout. props go out to Bart and anyone else who has helped this course stay around!

I'm not sure which of the courses (Devil's Creek or Blue Devil) is still there, or maybe they are 9 each? There were 18 as of 5/6/18 with basket #7 missing.

Great to see someone put that much work to put in 18 holes in such a small space. Once the pads go into place (no concrete : (, wood chips or something) its going to be pretty sweet.

The course gets most of its score for being accessible and fun to play. Its too easy to get a higher score and the danger of loosing a disc is too high as well.

Nice little course. Not much land to work with but they did the best they could with what they had. Great views of downtown Southfield, sick putt through a metal sculpture, and wacky drives off dorm room roofs. Gotta love it.

This is the course I started on. The river and the two reed patches are both good places to lose discs. Control is what is required to navigate this course.

I don't like how close it comes to the road

I've changed my mind about this course since my last review. I think I was caught up in my dissapointment with what we got versus what I was expecting, but it actually is a decent course. Many different shots are required and there is a variety of distances. My only gripe is that there are more than a few holes that are very close to busy roads and parking lots. Take care in your throw and make sure it hits where you're aiming.

I actually live on campus here at LTU and have played it many times. New holes are amazing and give you a great challenge. Good variety. You should definitely try it

I like the course, but the Out of Bounds (OB) were killing my scores, the wind and my putting did not help either!

Course is unkempt. Unplayable without a map, and missing basket #7. Shipping containers and other junk are blocking a few fairways, and part of the course was a bit flooded. But, all that being said, skipping #7 we were able to finish a round of 18. Lost one disc in the Rouge River. Wasn't sure if the parking lots were OB, so we only played the highways OB. Crazy course where easy to shank a shot into oncoming traffic gong 80mph, and a couple of fairways were over parking lots filled w ...

It's good to see this course finding its way in the new layout of the LTU campus. It will be nice to see everything grow in over the next few seasons. Hopefully soon it will be easier to get from hole 5 to hole 6.

A can honestly say there is no other course like Larry Tech. This course designer was not constrained by the typical disc golf weenies and it is not a course for the dumb casual. You need to play smart and act smart here. Beautiful holes and a perfect blend of the natural with the urban/industrial. The yellow top discatchers look effing amazing set against the high rises of Southfield. Our first postmodern disc golf course? Lack of good signs, teepads benches and other amenities take it down to a B but it goes up a grade because it's different.

Not a bad course, unique aspects like basket postioned inside steel girdered structure, very tall reeds, raods(Lodge freeway) and lots of OB. The long and short holes make this course worth a stop if in the area. There are good baskets, and designers were'nt afraid to position them close to building, sidewalks, and generally they used the land they had, very well. The course plays around the campus basically
There are signs although it is tricky to navigate from front nine to back. Just really a break from the norm, and a fun course that i'd play again.

Some holes too short. No tee pads and lack of signage for next hole make navigation tough. 2 tees had soccer matches somewhat inhibiting the throw from the tee. Lots of potential with some love and care. Roadway was about 50' from the fairway on holes 4 and 5. The 50' pitch shot down the stairwell comprising hole one was disappointing for the first hole. Would almost feel guilty registering an ace on it.
Very pleased to see the University showing. interest in the sport, and supporting it wit ...

Fun course high end baskets but no tee pads? There is a lot of shot diversity on these 18 short holes, long holes, and really short holes. Did not really care for how urban it is being next to parking lots and main roads, but they did the best with the area they could. Signs were terrible and confusing had to look at pics on here to find where to go on a few holes.

An absolute joke. How many more portables can they possibly add? Practice putting isn't even worth it. The security will post right next to you. Hell, I had 3 two fives park next to the basket i was practicing on just to try to get me to leave and it was still daylight. New holes were never finished years ago.

Holes 1-6, 12-18 playable. 7-11 are defunct due to stadium construction. No tees marked so you need to stumble your way through using map. Long distance between many holes. Holes 1-6 hemmed in by parking lots and service drive so presents some frustration in play. 1.5 stars

Front 9 poorly maintained. Back 9 contains lots of risk to buildings, pedestrians and cars.

New review for a new course. Plays around Lawrence Tech campus. The new course is much more difficult. All par 3's. 4x4 Tee posts are in. Natural Pads.

First time playing. Not a great course. Not a terrible course.
Pros:
- Cool urban/wooded layout
- Decent use of land given
- Good balance of rhb, lhb, and straight holes
- Hole 18 is one of the best golf holes I have ever seen
- Cool structural obstacles on back 9
Cons:
- Holes 1 and 2 are a joke
- Open field holes play next to Lodge service drive and traffic is a bit distracting
- Long walks between front 9 and back 9, hole 18 and parking lot
- Couldn't find Hole #1 tee sign

I do not know how this course is rated a B. Drove the 20 minutes to go play somewhere different. Spent 10 minutes driving around campus trying to find hole 1. Had to go off a picture post on here to get an idea. The map that is pictured in the picture is gone. Hole 1 tee sign has been moved to just by the stairs. Grass is over grown to the MAX. No clue where the tee was supposed to be as there are no tees at all. Walked to find hole 2. Found the tee sign for hole 2 and went the opposite of where ...
